Hi, I’m Carmen, thank you for taking a moment to discover more about me.

I help my clients get back to being their best self through my counselling and empowering therapy.

I am passionate about mental health & (physical) fitness and believe strongly in the mind & body connection and how they interact together and influence our wellbeing.

In light of this and as a qualified personal trainer, I now offer eco-therapy with my new walk & talk therapy, which is proving extremely popular.

If you are the type of person that likes to be stuck in your spiral of issues (and that’s perfectly fine), then I probably won’t be the therapist for you.

The Formal Stuff: Qualifications and Experience

Everyone is different and unique and so are the issues they are facing. People are affected in a myriad of ways and respond in their own different ways.

Therefore I do not have a one-size-fits-all approach and will use my experience to use the methods that we both feel will work best for you.

The Personal Stuff: My Journey into Empowering Therapy

I started my counselling journey over 11 years ago when I lived in Malaysia after my marriage of 17 years suddenly ended in divorce.

At that time, with what felt like everything collapsing around me, I felt worthless, lost, almost helpless, and this in turn, caused extreme anxiety and stress.

Being in a foreign country with no job also added to my stress and anxiety levels.

Before leaving Malaysia, I had tried to kid myself that I would get back to my best self under my own steam.

But I was struggling.

So after some intervention from a good friend, I reluctantly (at first) sought the help of a wonderful counsellor.

Fresh Perspective, New Optimism

After the intervention, it helped me realise that it was all about perspective. This gave me a fresh outlook and increased my self belief.

It was these sessions that inspired me to help other people through empowering therapy and so my journey began.

Me Now

Now, I am happily remarried, a registered foster carer and have a career I am passionate about.

In my spare time, I run regular 5k and 10k’s and walk my big, beautiful German shepherd.

Although my private practise is busy, I still volunteer and I am proud to be a mentor with GirlsAloud.

GirlsAloud is a wonderful organisation that helps, supports and mentors teenage girls to believe in themselves.
