How do I know if I need counselling?

The fact that you are reading this page probably means that you are researching therapy because you have noticed you have not been yourself, so that is a good indicator.

You can read this short page here, How do I know if I need counselling? and that can give you further clarity.

Alternatively, why not book a free 15 to 20 minute consultation with me? Then I can offer you my professional opinion.

How do I know if you are the right counsellor for me?

The client-counsellor relationship is vital to effective therapy and that’s one of the reasons I offer a free consultation. We’ll both to get to know if we are the right fit for each other.

What do you charge?

My fees are currently £49 per session and I charge a little more for Walk & Talk therapy to allow for travel and time out of the office.

How many sessions will I need?

That can depend on a number of different factors and I will be able to give you a better idea after your initial, free consultation.

If you are ready you can book your first free consultation with me.

What type of counsellor/therapist are you?

I am here for you. I am here to help you get back to being your best self.

I have many accreditations to my name but I believe that everyone is a unique individual. In that respect, what approach or ‘system’ or trainings that works for one person, may not necessarily work for another.

That said, my main approaches are what are termed as, person-centered counselling and solution focused.

I can tell you that if you are the type of person who likes to remain trapped in your spiral of anxiety or hurt (and that’s absolutely fine), then I am probably not the therapist for you.

Do I have to be physically fit to participate in walk and talk therapy?

No. The emphasis is always on the therapy and not the walking. Walk and Talk therapy is eco-therapy. Being out in fresh air and amongst the peace and beauty of nature is proven to be good for the mind and body.

There is a small risk assessment every client must fill in before any kind of therapy or counselling and my walk & talk therapy is exactly the same.

Rest assured, you are in safe hands. I am also a fully qualified fitness instructor.

Can I get therapy via phone?

Yes you can by all means. I do like to see my clients on the free consultation via a video call and there is no special software needed.

We can conduct your free consultation via Whatsapp on your phone.

What happens if I have to cancel a session?

Life happens, work happens, kids happen, I get you. If you cancel a session and give me 24 hours notice (unless it is a dire emergency then I make allowances for that), you will not be charged.

We will rearrange your session.

However, I wholly reserve the right to terminate any future sessions if you cancel your appointments on a regular basis.

Is it all private and confidential?

Absolutely. All professional counsellors and therapists must abide by a strict code of ethics and this will be explained when we discuss our client/therapist agreement.
